Crowe has turned into a physical specimen. He went from a portly heavyweight with zero cardio, to a lean, ripped, svelte welterweight…with zero cardio. Crowe always seems to be a bit underrated by most of us in the media. He’s always had good striking, but it has no doubt improved with his move to 4oz Fight Club and training under striking guru “The General” Bob Perez (the man responsible for the rise and success of Daniel Pineda). He’s also strong enough to hold his own on the ground (not that I think he’ll need those skills in this fight)
Mohamed is another physical freak. He’s tall, ripped and very muscular. He’s been around the scene for a while. He fought 5 times in 2006/2007 and then took FOUR YEARS off. Since coming back in 2011 he’s 1-1. His comeback fight was exciting and he looked to be on track to rise to the top of his division in Houston, but then he ran into the talented Noel Ligon and lost. Mohammed has potential, but he needs to focus more.
Both of these guys could be body double for me, but I digress.
Crowe is hell-bent on making a name for himself in MMA. Mohamed is an interesting fight for him as they both are physically gifted. Crowe can dictate where he wants the fight to take place, and despite his recent cardio issues (and he’s told me those have been corrected) more often than not he takes a fight the distance and wins. Mohamed needs to finish, and to do so he needs a KO as I don’t think he’ll be able to submit Crowe.http://secure.signup-way.com/8407/21000/ufc_tv

Gomez was forced to withdraw from the event Friday, less than one week before his scheduled 125-pound bout with fellow Californian Adam Rothweiler at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, Calif. Speaking to Sherdog.com, Gomez explained that what he believed to be a boil on the back of his leg turned out to be a staph infection, which he plans to have removed Saturday. It isn’t the first time staph has derailed the 28-year-old Marc Laimon student, who had to withdraw from the semifinals of a 2010 Bellator bantamweight tournament due to infection.
Stepping up to face Rothweiler on short notice is Hector Sandoval (Pictured), a member of Urijah Faber’s Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, Calif. The promotion also announced Friday that John Reedy has agreed to fill in for injured welterweight Damion Douglas. Reedy will take on Chidi Njokuani, brother of UFC lightweight Anthony Njokuani.
